RGV’s ‘Amma’ 3D– Concept, Story And Making

Posted under Bollywood,Entertainment,Tollywood by user1 on Thursday 4 November 2010 at 10:45 am

RGV has released this Press Note today. Read and know what’s there in his mind.

Concept:
After making the audience breathe blood through their nostrils with his film ‘Rakta Charitra’, the eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma has announced his next film ‘Amma’. Though the title looks soft, this is going to be an edge of the seat adventure entertainer in a 3-D format with state of the art technical values. Explaining the concept, RGV said that he had a strong desire from many years to come up with a film like ‘Mackennas Gold’ ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ etc.  He has already expressed the same in many of his interviews, blogs and many other places. It seems he was thinking about such a script from many years. Our country is known for secret treasures and how the spirits of the kings and other supernatural powers tend to attach themselves to these treasures. ‘Amma’ is a film which is done on this backdrop. The portrayal of people willing to go to any extreme out of greed, their intense impulses, breathtaking locations, never before seen action sequences and the dangers involved in such journeys are always exciting. The icing on the cake would be the presentation in the 3-D format. Ramu explains that audience tends to feel a lot and experience many emotions while watching films in 2-D format and by showing the same is shown in 3-D format with exciting twists and suspense scenes, Ramu wants to ensure that the viewer has a breathtaking experience.

Story
With all this is in mind, Ramu is embarking on his new journey. The story is about a professor who chances upon a secret treasure in the presence of a Kali Maatha idol at a cave in the dangerous ‘Haraganga’ mountain ranges. Due to an incident, all his team loses their lives and he is the only one who escapes alive with injuries. When he shares this with a police officer, the cop decides gets greedy and decides to have it for his own without informing the authorities. He threatens the professor to take him to the cave or else he would kill him. A team of experts in various fields is assembled and the journey begins. The essence of the film goes on how each member faces different challenges and the jealousy, greed, envy which drives them to internal conflict.

Making
The film will be shot in the Congo Basin, the Amazon forests in Brazil, Caspian Sea in Iran. All these will be clubbed with computer graphics and specially erected sets. This will be a trilingual in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and it will also have few American actors. Ramu says that he has taken ‘Rakta Charitra’ in three languages simultaneously so he will do the same with this project and will add English version to it as well. The other feature is that he will be releasing it in 3-D and 2-D versions as well. The film will hit the floors in January 2011 and will wrap up by April. August will be the release time. Ramu reveals that this is going to be the most expensive movie in his 20 year career. For now, he has roped in Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Sonu Sood, Abhimanyu Singh, Arjun, Naseeruddin Shah, Subbaraju, Brahmanandam as the lead cast and there will also be three female and four male characters who are yet to be finalized. The key highlight is that there will be no heroes in the film. There will only be villains.

Prabhas is one man whose raw appeal is very strong that many men look upto him for his personality and his simplistic nature. Now, here is another quality of him. It is heard that Prabhas has got a standard tradition which is followed for every birthday of his.
This is happening right from the days of ‘Eeshwar’. Apparently, Prabhas celebrates his birthday on October 23rd and during that time, it seems he invites all the small time pressmen, photographers and other media related folks. All are treated with unlimited liquor and here is something else.
At the end of the party, each one of them gets a cover with some cash. It is heard that Prabhas is spending few lakhs every time for his birthday. So now, many are eagerly waiting to see where the young rebel star will fix the venue for his special day and everyone is already prepared to be there.

Nostaliga: RGV’s Loss- EVV’s Gain

It’s something nostalgic to know. This might come across as a surprise to you but then even Ram Gopal Varma can make mistakes when it comes to the choice of his songs. Here is a classic example that came to light recently. This happened during the making of his film ‘Govinda Govinda’ which had Nagarjuna and Sridevi in the lead.
The music for the film was composed by the duo of Raj – Koti. It seems that they came up with the song ’Kannepittaro kannukottaro..’ at that point and wanted to use it in ‘Govinda Govinda’. However, Ramu was not appealed. It seems they tried to convince him but he didn’t budge. After a while, the same song was taken by EVV Satyanarayana for his new film ‘Hello Brother’ and the film went onto become a hit while the song became a super hit. This also elevated the duo of Raj-Koti to the top league. Wonder what Ramu has to say to this now…

Bollywood actor-producer Aamir Khan says he is yearning to watch southern superstar Rajnikanth-starrer " Robot".

"I am most keen to see ‘Robot’. Rajni sir rocks!" Aamir posted on social networking site Facebook.

The movie, which is called " Endhiran" in Tamil, also features Aishwarya Rai. Apparently made at a budget of Rs.175 crore ($38 million), it is being lapped up by audiences across India.

Actors who have seen the movie are all praise for it, but have pointed to its inordinate length.

Riteish Deshmukh posted on Twitter: "Superstar Rajni! He is a phenomenon. Action in ‘Robot’ is just what you want to watch as a Rajni fan. Go watch it now – a bit long but worth it."

Actor Tusshar Kapoor opined: "…quite a fun film but a bit long. Rajni looks young and energetic even at this age. No wonder he’s such a superstar."  Actress Sameera Reddy went gaga over the 60-year-old actor. "As the No.1 Rajnikanth fan, I am so proud that he has kicked ass at the box office! So proud of you Rajni sir! You are the best!" she tweeted.
